Glenn was born in Florence and raised in Florence Public Schools. He came to know about God’s grace at a young age and continued to be influenced by the message of that grace which had saved him. In 1973, Glenn knew God had more specific plans for his life and for future opportunities of growing in that grace.
Doors opened for Glenn to become part of a singing group that traveled in the southeast, mostly North and South Carolina. It was during that part of his journey Glenn met a young lady by the name of Dolly Martin (who was raised in Pamplico), whom he married, in 1976. Both continued to serve in their local church and a family was begun.
After several years of working in secular jobs, God led them both to a deeper relationship to Him and each other and doors, once again, began to be opened. The path led to the call to full time ministry and Glenn was ordained to that ministry in 1985 by Unity Baptist Church in Florence. Glenn and Dolly would not lose their South Carolina roots and go on to serve churches in Charleston, Coward, back to Charleston, Lancaster and back to their home church in Florence.
Dolly, who originally went to college to pursue a career in early childhood education, was led into administration in the medical field and continued in that work until her retirement in 2021. In 2001, Glenn left the pastorate to begin work as a full time hospice chaplain and continued in that ministry until his retirement in July 2020. He and Dolly came to Beulah, with Glenn becoming interim pastor, and then becoming full time in the summer of 2020.
Glenn is a graduate of Charleston Southern University and received a BA degree with a major in Religion and a minor in sociology. He also attended Francis Marion University and was a transient student at USC Lancaster for one semester.
Glenn and Dolly have two grown daughters, Becky and Jennifer, six grands and one great grand.
